Miholovich Music Final

Connor Miholovich MU3620 Final:

For my final composition I produced a Future Bass track taking inspirations from artists such as Illenium, Gryffin, and Said The Sky. The piece features a mellow verse with arpeggios and keys which quickly builds to a drop with layers of synths. The piece also features stylistic choices from genres such as Tech House and Trapstep. The vocals were chosen to be out of key to make it distinct that the song is not part of a remix, I have included the project with and without the vocal tracks, the vocals help move the energy emotion of the piece, but in the non-vocal composition it may be easier to notice some of the different stylistic choices. I plan on recording my own vocals for the song for a later date but for the purpose of the class I wanted to focus on the composition of the song. During production I explored audio effects such as side-chain, pitch bending and free rate arpeggiators, using basic compositional ideas and as the youtuber Mr. Bill describes as "exponential rhythms" I was able to add the classic future bass thick drop layers that feature the identifying "warble" or flutter.

The piece features vocals from Gryffin's "Just for a Moment", all rights go to the artist.
