MU2300 Final Project Jackson Brandin

From vjmedia

My final project involved writing an original rock piece with an emphasis on creating a high-production video. My workflow looked like this: --> Write original piece (start with a basic guitar melody, expand into a solo) --> Load audio files into a DAW and fill in the sound with additional MIDI clips that we have learned to utilize (Ableton Live) --> Mix the project, add effects, and balance the sound (EQ, layering, compression etc) --> Record a video of me performing the piece (Playing guitar, laying down MIDI clips) My focus on the project will be to create a smooth, balanced song that represents a culmination of the technical skills we learned in the various DAW software and pair it with a high quality video production that shows my performance. I have experience playing guitar and mixing samples in Garageband. I have also recorded videos of myself performing covers of songs in the past. However, I wanted to go beyond my production experience and create a project that involves using a DAW that I have no experience with (Ableton LIVE). I wanted to become familiar with Ableton LIVE because of its multiplatform support. I also want to become skilled in producing videos of my performances that are synced well with mixed audio files because I want to be able to continue to produce videos like this as a hobby and share it to YouTube/social media. My deliverable is a video that features my performance. Follow the link below to view.
