For this project I wanted to utilize both human interactivity and arrangement. I took the arrangement I did for a previous project and the premise of using a Nintendo Switch Prop Controller to make music and combined them. I used Max 8 and the EAMIR package to map the pro controller to specific notes or sets of notes in my arrangement of Super Bell Hill from Super Mario 3D World. I then put the button prompts on the sheet music, which allowed me to play while reading the sheet music.

Description:

For this project I wanted to utilize both human interactivity and arrangement. I took the arrangement I did for a previous project and the premise of using a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to make music and combined them. I used Max 8 and the EAMIR package to map the pro controller to specific notes or sets of notes in my arrangement of Super Bell Hill from Super Mario 3D World. I then put the button prompts on the sheet music, which allowed me to play while reading the sheet music.

Below is a zip file that contains the max patch, sheet music, mp3/wav, and setup instructions. The mp3/wav player is exported from MuseScore 3 and is not played through Max 8. The only difference is that the Max 8 version has fewer instruments in some parts.
