I can’t say that I have a really firm understanding of it, but it does offer some interesting perspectives on human systems. However, such advanced theory is not really needed to see that neoclassical economics is perversely simplistic and reductionist. I don’t really see any reason to focus exclusively on economics in considering issues of ethics. You are correct that the neoliberal regime has elevated it to the status of holy writ.
