For this project, I used Max/MSP to create a patch that can play songs simultaneously. While the songs are playing concurrently, you can press keys on the keyboard to toggle between the songs, playing them solo, in pairs, or in quartets depending on which key is pressed. The resulting song can then be recorded in the patch.

Demo

For this specific demo, I used Garageband to align 7 songs of my choosing so that they played in unison in the way I wanted. Then, I loaded them into the patch that I had created and played them while pressing different keys to create a new song.
