Today, many modern video games use live orchestras for their music which is a stark contrast to how music was composed on early video game systems such as the NES. For my final project, I've taken the soundtrack of a classic NES game and updated the various tracks using the techniques taught in this course. I have chosen Megaman 2 as it is already well known for its music. An audience who already enjoys the music that came out of this era of games would be sure to enjoy the recreation. We have worked with making MIDI files sound realistic in this class which gives me a good base to start with, although we only did so with one instrument. Working with multiple instrument lines came with increased challenge, though with practice as well as other class lessons I was able to deliver a full recreated album.
