Description:

For this project, I painted an ancient Egyptian scene with people playing various instruments. I added a layer of capacitive touch sensors to the back of the painting and used them to send MIDI control changes to ableton where I performed the composition.

Note that the audio is not out of sync, the control changes trigger session-view clips which play in quantized intervals (i.e. every bar). This removes human timing from the equation, guaranteeing all of the loops are synced in time.
