For my final project I decided to create a piece that was similar to music in movie trailers. I was inspired to do this because I always liked how the music set the mood of the movie and aligned with the transitions of the film. I also appreciate how the music can help tell the story line of the trailer and can affect the viewers opinion. For my piece, I leaned more on the mysterious side for the mood but added areas where the mood changed to something slower, which can be interpreted as a change in the mood of the movie and story. I also liked to close my eyes while composing and picture where the transitions could be applied. The next step for this piece would be to have a band play it in order to fix some of the frequencies, velocities, and allow for improvisation that I believe will improve the piece overall.
