MU230X Final Project by Jimmy Beucler

For my final project, I created a remix of a country song. I put a hip hop/electronic spin on the song (Dirt Road Anthem by Jason Aldean) by recording using a MIDI controller and Garageband. I placed the country song at a lower volume in the background. This created a very interesting sound and feel because the genres are so different. I already have some background with Garageband use at my home. This is my first time using a MIDI controller with it though, instead of using a microphone to record. Matching the tempo of the MP3 from iTunes with the metronome in Garageband was the hardest part and took the longest. It was a lot of trial and error, but eventually I found the correct tempo (in beats per minute) and cut the piece to match it up with each measure.
