I decided one day while I was singing in the shower that I wanted to make a song. I thought about writing my own but with the absence of knowledge and the lack of time, I decided to make a cover. From a previous project and the guidance of Professor Manzo, I was familiar with Ableton Live and had some practice with the art of recreating a sound. However, to make a cover one must recreate all instruments and record the vocals. Before starting this project I did not entirely know what effects did to sounds. For example, I did not know how distortion or compression changed a noise. After googling the terms I had a greater understanding of what effects did to sound and I was ready to start the cover. After about two weeks or so I recorded and finalized a cover of the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
