I already know how to use basic effects to manipulate sound, so I am anticipating being able to make the strings more full-bodied. However, I am nervous about creating new parts; although I can comfortably play the violin, I am not confident in my composing/arranging skills. I hope to learn how to arrange more parts for the song by listening to the song and by trial and error.

Project Description: For my cousin’s wedding, my sister and I played a few famous Bollywood love songs at the end of the ceremony. I intend to take one of the song recordings (which was just two violins playing the melody and a simple harmony) and hopefully make it sound more like an orchestra to emphasize the romantic aspects of the song. My goal is to make a richer and more full-bodied sound, while also adding more parts to make it sound more like the original song. If this turns out well, I want to send the recording to my cousin and his wife for their three-year anniversary. The technical component of this project will be enhancing and creating more parts to create a well-developed cover of the song Tum Hi Ho. The deliverable will be an audio recording of the cover.
