For my project I created 2 electronic songs using MIDI, virtual instruments / synths, automation, and effects. I also used a patcher tool to make more intricate changes in my sound design process. In the first song I wanted to add some spice to my bass synth. To do so I separated the high and low frequencies of the bass and ran them through different effects. For the low end I only added a compressor to really give it a boost, but for the high end I added reverb and distortion to get a warmer buzzing sound. By combining the two I got just the sound I was looking for. In the second song I felt that one of the lead synths felt a little dull. To give it some more flavor, I significantly altered the synth with reverb, a chorus and a flanger to get a wet signal. I proceeded to blend this with a dry signal of just the synth. The bass I talked about from Song 1 is first introduced at (0:27) and the synth from Song 2 can be heard at (1:11). Both full songs are posted below.
