The Simon Style Game is a patch created in Max 8 as a final project for MU 3616 Topics in Music Programming. The patch operates similarly to the game Simon, where the user has to repeat a sequence of colors that increases with every correct repetition. My project uses randomly generated notes instead of colors. After the patch gives the user the note sequence, the user then has to repeat the sequence back on a midi keyboard. If the sequence is repeated correctly the sequence is played back again with one additional note at the end of the sequence. If the sequence is repeated incorrectly, the patch resets itself and waits for the user to start the sequence again. The user has three options for how the patch outputs the notes. The three options are through speaker output of the device, a visual keyboard on the screen that shows the location of the notes, or a visual on the screen that displays the notes as their corresponding midi number code. The user can have any of the different output types enabled at the same time. This project could be used to help someone train their ear to better identify pitches, or just used to help improve memory. This project was made by Noah Wolf
