James McAleese MU2300 D16 Final Project
This project is a piece I made in Garageband that has a bit of a different sound than what I've done earlier in the term. This piece uses more processed sound clips, and has a bit more of a "techno" feel than my other pieces. It's predominantly loops from Garageband, with some simple tunes done by myself on a keyboard put in there as well. I came up with the tunes early in the process, and found ways to work around them and incorporate them into the piece as it was being made. While it didn't make it into the final result because of the overall range and tone of the piece, I initially wanted to do something with the famous 5 note tune from the film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", and I got the inspiration to mess around with other tunes when that one ended up not fitting in.
There weren't too many issues in creating this piece, only a few that stemmed from my lack of detailed knowledge on Garageband, which I go over in the video below.
