Metroid Music Remake Project - Matt Sweeney
For my final, I recreated the original Metroid soundtrack. Since the music was written within the restrictions of the NES’s sound card, the music is fairly outdated. I intended to bring the sounds into a new light, so they could theoretically be used for a remake of the game. In the beginning, I knew how to use some software such as Ableton Live, but I didn’t have much experience editing multiple midi files. If I wanted to add any additional parts I’d need to brush up on my composing skills. I do have some composing knowledge but nowhere near a professional level. The deliverable for this project is multiple WAV files, one for each song. I learned a lot about blending sounds and create a real mood for a song. I also learned a lot more about Ableton Live editing.
