For this project, I was initially going to mash up a few 80's and 90's songs, but I found it difficult to match the melodies and make everything flow together. So I decided to focus on two songs: Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics and You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive. Using Ableton, I overlaid the songs with beat loops, generating some of my own using the drumkits, and I wrote the notes for the heavy bass in the background. I played around with the reverb, volume, and pitch bend, creating new beats to use, and I rearranged the songs so that only certain parts are sung. When I tried putting the two songs together, however, I wasn't able to "mash" the two songs together. Instead, I decided to make a transition half way through, from Sweet Dreams to You Spin Me Round.
