And he acknowledges the wider television drama vogue for true-crime and real-life adaptations. ITV has recently filmed The Lost Honour, a dramatisation of the witch-hunt of Bristol landlord Chris Jefferies, wrongly accused of the murder of Jo Yeates, while Lucan’s festive season broadcast slot is close to another, if markedly different, ITV biopic – that of Tommy Cooper. (One of Pope’s forthcoming projects, meanwhile, is the life of Cilla Black.)
