- I started by programming a drum machine. I was looking for a soft lofi-esk beat. I wanted something simple but consistent to drive the song forward
- I next added an accompanying baseline.
- There are 6 distinct 8 bar sections of the song.
- The drum line stays consistent throughout, while the bass switches between two baselines.
- The song begins and ends with repeating sections. However, the concluding section is modified. The first 4 bars are raised by 2 semitones before returning to the known pattern from the beginning of the song. The section finally ends with a sustained last note to give the song closure.
- The piano and guitar play different distinct but complementing leading parts throughout the song.
- I tried to maintain a slow and calming energy while keeping melodies complex and interesting.
