My structure for this piece is a wedge shape on the ascent and descent at the start/end. I utilize that approach to keep the "heartbeat" line throughout the piece but layer on different instruments to keep it interesting. The end result is a sort of binary chorus. There is an "A section" that I consider the leads and hip hop drum section. The "B section" is the saw synth and trap drum section. Each has differences when they are played. The first time the B section appears, it establishes a musical idea. The second time the B section plays it resolved any fragments from that idea. The A section preceding/succeeding the 2nd B section has an arpeggiated synth to add complexity and depth for a "peak" to the metaphorical mountain that the wedge forms in this area. | My structure for this piece is a wedge shape on the ascent and descent at the start/end. This project is titled "Analogue Heartbeat of Digital Circuits" for 2 reasons.
Firstly, I utilized various drum kits to create a focus on the drum line. One particular analogue kit is the "heartbeat" and plays throughout the whole piece. Secondly, digital circuits emphasizes my use of electronic synths and loops to combine the electronic sounds produced by my computer with the sounds of the drum kits playing.
