New page

This final project was focused on the creation of a track completely recorded and edited myself. I have been a part of several recording projects musically but have never produced any music. Now that I have learned some basics on utilizing a DAW to edit tracks and recordings I think this a great opportunity to give it a shot. This track will emphasize guitar because it is my primary instrument.

The skills I already had musically were playing guitar and singing, but I had yet to learn how to efficiently mix tracks to provide a specific feeling to the listener. Although I had the basic understanding of using a DAW, My goal was to create a rather seamless transition between parts of the song and I feel this is a skill that is harder to master than it appears. Another skill I developed through this project was how to effectively record guitar into a computer (without a mic, and hopefully bypassing the need for an amplifier through the use of plugins). Through the purchase of an AudioBox USB interface I was able to effectively record guitar tracks directly into Ableton Live.

The deliverable for this project is an audio recording. A goal is that this track creates a feeling and visualization for the listener of making coffee in the morning.
