Being someone with musical knowledge but very little knowledge on music technology, I took this course so I could learn how to use technology to create music or edit existing audio to create something that better fits my own style and music interests. However, because I knew more about music than I did about the technology, it was difficult to execute my musical ideas, so I was often not fully satisfied with how my projects turned out. For this final project, I created a mix with musical parts of various songs and utilized different effects such as EQs, reverb, compression, and delays to alter the sound of the existing audio in a creative way. I know that my ability to use technology to create music will improve by experimenting more with different effects and other tools, so in addition to the effects I usually use, I experimented with other effects and ways to alter sounds and created my own MIDI audio to add character to the overall piece.
