New page

This is my final project for MU 362X of 2013, entitled "Bastion of Misguided Flesh".

Finally, a completely original work. It's been a long time since I made something completely from scratch that I actually liked.

I composed this track as a musical theme for a character in a fanfiction story I'm writing. The series I'm writing for is known as the Touhou Project. It generally consists of a series of top down shooters made entirely by one person. Naturally, when composing this theme, I took a bit of influence from the music from the official games, even using an extremely similar trumpet instrument. The track is meant to be the character's battle theme, which I may possibly use in a small game project featuring her.

The track gives off a powerful but melancholy feel, with the techno/trance instruments serving to envoke a feeling of mystery (or at least that's what I thought). The track title was suggested by a friend of mine, based off the character that the theme belongs to. To explain why it fits is probably too long of a story to tell here.

Unfortunately, it probably gets too repetitive at times. I'll likely end up revisiting in the future. Despite this, I'm extremely pleased with how this turned out and I hope you all enjoy!
