I wanted to make Jazzy soundtrack sort of music, so I used my phone to record myself tapping a desk and humming/playing on guitar ideas for a bass line or a chorus.

Then I opened Kontakt 5 through Ableton Live 9 and looked through the instruments for sounds for drums, basses, pianos and trumpets.

I recorded takes over a click track then listened through and found the best versions of each part, then edited them together.
