New page

Song: Shooting Star

This is my final project for MU3620. I began the piece by experimenting with various logic patches that I liked, and adding various effects or changing their attributes to try and create a novel sound that I liked. From there, I began hearing a rhythm and melody and began to build out my song. This was heavily inspired by Franc Moody, a modern electronic funk group. I saw them in concert last summer and was so inspired by their performance I tried to make a lot of music in their style. They combine live guitar, bass and keys with electronic elements and catchy hooks to create a pretty unique style of music. I tried to emulate their heavy drums mixed with mellow and funky grooves throughout this piece. I even add some vocals from a vocal engine called arcade by output. Though this is far from the quality of a great live singer, I thought it added nicely to the atmosphere of the song and I quite like how it turned out. I plan on mixing the song a little further and putting some finishing touches on it, but so far I'm very happy with it. Hope you enjoy as well!
