The goal of this project was to create a platform where a musical idea could be delivered into a DAW as quickly as possible without disrupting workflow or interrupting the creative process. I found that the best way to do this would be to create a template in my DAW wherein as soon as the record button is pressed the input from my MIDI controller is recorded and played back in a loop to be recorded over with a different sound until the track is put together. Similar to a loop pedal for guitar, this template would allow for a sound engineer to record each sound in a song and put it together without any significant DAW work being done. A demonstration of a simple loop that was created in real-time is below, showing the ease with which musical ideas can enter the DAW.
