== My Final Project: Submersion by Viola Seibel ==

Through all the various songs in my albums, I wanted to encapsulate various styles and techniques, particularly electronic and metal. Within those songs, I heavily relied on topics I learned from the lessons about how to use various effects with MIDI instruments, including things like reverb, distortion, noise gates, and more. The beginning of the album is more focused on smooth synths that tend to rely on echo and reverb to create calmer sounds, while later in the album, guitars are introduced using distortion to lay on a much more powerful and energetic tone. Certain songs also use very significant EQ manipulation to completely change the tone of the song, often used in a short section to make the ensuing chorus seem much more powerful. Some songs, for example, midnight zone, also uses panning to allow two piano tracks to play at once without exactly playing on top of each other. Overall, many effects and techniques are used in an attempt to make each song a unique experience.
