===What is ''The Dartboard''?===

''The Dartboard'' is a concept album by the artist Carseat (my artist name) of songs that my synesthesia created during my lucid dreams. The dreams span from happy comical ones to my worst nightmares to date. The album art is a visual development of the pieces, created by Kris McCarthy. The songs are currently in the process of being mixed by Olivia Monarch and will shortly be released on all media.

The interactive site created in Max 8 allows for the user to click on a panel of the album art and have the song that corresponds to that panel play. Some further synesthesia-related information is provided, including the zoomed-in panel and a sketch of the dream by me (myself, and I). The interaction from the user to the music is an interesting connection to make -- perceiving someone else's synesthesia is an extremely personal experience that opens up opportunities for healthy disagreement on interpretation.
I wrote and recorded a song using Pro Tools, my guitars, voice, and random objects I found in my room. I already knew how to record into Pro Tools but I had very little experience with mixing and using plug-ins. Before this, I had mostly been using GarageBand on my tablet and quickly noticed that Pro Tools is quite different. I initially didn't look to make the most beautiful mix on planet Earth that spans through time and space, I just looked to mix it so it doesn't sound like mono-panned over-reverbed garbage. However, I got a tad carried away and messed around a lot with the panning, reverb, delay, EQs, and compressors to create a more in-depth understanding of what the song is about, which I found to be quite fun.

The deliverable is an audio file of the final mix. I started with the intention of making this song only available to my loved ones and those who stumbled across this page, but I might end up releasing it onto Bandcamp and the sorts. If you're interested, my artist name is ''Carseat'', and I can be found pretty much anywhere, but no one knows I exist. Yet. We'll see. I'd be shocked if people did.

I wanted to implement MIDIs into the song as well; however, I only have the "Student Edition" of Pro Tools and they restrained me to about 15 tracks [which was how many acoustic tracks I had]. To add another compositional constraint, I asked my girlfriend to give me two phrases starting with the letters a-g and I made chord progressions out of them. Just a verse, pre-chorus, verse, pre-chorus. Short, sweet, and gets the point across.

I hope you enjoy these strange two-ish minutes.
