<div><h3>Composition Process</h3><br />
I mapped my and my friend's phone numbers to notes in the C major scale and used these notes to create two different melodies, one played by a violin, the other by a harp. The melodies are passed around between the two main voices which at times echo, and at others, complement each other. This idea of passing around the melody to different voices was inspired by classical composers in piano and ensemble pieces I've played, and with it, I tried to capture the flow of a conversation between two people. I experimented with the tones, the melodies, and instrumentation to vary the sound of the piece, reflecting how ideas may change or repeat as a conversation proceeds. <br />
