Since I was once a pretty decent trumpet player and even ranked in my state at one point, I would like to kick off the dust of my old Bb Trumpet and preform all of the brass parts for a ska song I really enjoy: The Impression that I get by the Mighty Mighty Bostones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIGMUAMevH0). I would also try and preform the drum part if I have access to a kit. The rest of the song I would rely on stems and then I would add effects and produce the rest on my own. If time allows I would like to possibly assemble a band to play this song with them and take a video of it, edit the audio and make a cheesy music video. I will use the skills I have learned in this class to utilize music production software to equalize the different components of the track. Essentially make the song not sound like total crap and be able to take pride in my work. I will also use my prior musical abilities and ability to use a metronome. I do not have much experience with recording live instruments so I will utilize different room acoustics and recording methods to assure the song is of quality.
